Thank you Seanos, a useful response. You are right, I left the PHP extensions as default as I don't really understand all of them and didn't want to mess things up, but screenshot is good idea.
Your comment about Community Builder nagging for PHP8.2 is exactly the issue I have found all along with Joomla. Some of my J3 sites wouldn't work with PHP8.1 so I had to sit with 8.0, meaning I couldn't update any sites to J5. With PHP it always seems we are several steps behind with Joomla and extensions, and the reason I've had enough of sorting out compatibility issues as that if I don't do anything (which is fine because all my sites are working happily on PHP8.1) then in a very short time PHP8.1 will be out of date and I'll be nagged to update to 8.2 and then the uphill struggle to get my sites working with 8.2. Just as I do, I'll be nagged for PHP8.3.... etc etc. As I mentioned before, I need to spend my time creating and amending websites, and not get bogged down with continual fault-finding. I have a life too!! ;-)
